Emil Koch Elektrotechnik GmbH modernizes DVG's traction power supply

Emil Koch Elektrotechnik GmbH has been awarded the contract for the comprehensive modernization of the traction power supply for Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft AG (DVG). As part of the project, the Grunewald and Hauptbahnhof rectifier substations will be technically renewed and modernized to ensure the long-term reliable operation of the light rail infrastructure.

The project aims to renew central facilities of the electrical power supply for the Duisburg light rail network. The work will be carried out during ongoing rail operations and places the highest demands on planning, coordination, and technical execution. Existing supply structures must be reliably maintained throughout the entire construction period.

The scope of services for Emil Koch Elektrotechnik GmbH includes, among other things, the supply and installation of new 10 kV medium-voltage switchgear, 750-volt DC switchgear, rectifiers, traction power transformers, low-voltage systems, extensive cable and wiring work, remote control technology, as well as the complete commissioning and testing of the systems. In addition, the project includes the dismantling and professional disposal of existing systems and the integration of modern control and communication technology.

With this contract, Emil Koch Elektrotechnik GmbH further expands its expertise in traction power supply and transport infrastructure. The project underscores the company's many years of experience in realizing complex electrical infrastructure measures for transport companies and public clients.
