Emil Koch Elektrotechnik GmbH refurbishes technical equipment in four subway stations

Emil Koch Elektrotechnik GmbH has successfully completed the renovation of the technical equipment in the subway tunnels at the Vingst, Kalk-Post, Mülheim Station, and Wiener Platz stops. Extensive modernization work was carried out on behalf of Cologne Transport Company AG, making an important contribution to the operational safety and infrastructure quality of Cologne's public transport system.

The work was carried out exclusively at night to avoid disrupting ongoing subway operations. This placed stringent demands on planning, coordination, and occupational safety. Under strict safety precautions, outdated lighting, cabling, and tunnel boxes were dismantled and replaced with modern, energy-efficient systems.

The new tunnel lighting not only provides improved visibility and increased safety during operation and maintenance, but also contributes to energy savings and reduced maintenance costs. The modernized infrastructure meets all current technical and safety requirements for urban public transport.

Our experienced team worked closely with the city's specialist departments and took all operational processes into account to deliver reliably and on time. We would like to thank Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG for their trust and our team for their dedicated work under challenging conditions.
